The Illinois Jets Youth Track and Field Program was established to give Northern Illinois area youth athletes, ages 7 to 17, with an interest in intermediate and advanced level track and field experience, the opportunity for further development.
Our Mission and vision is to provide a quality program for each athlete and their families through a constructive track and field experience that is based on individual development and performance. To instill core values in each of our athletes that will ensure their success both on and off the track, with the support of parents and community; and to help improve the quality of life for both athletes and families through physical fitness and health & wellness education.
We are a community partner of the Rockford Park District Foundation which is a non-profit organization. We are also community partners of the Get Moving Initiative, and we very much support the effort to develop one healthy, active community in the Northern Illinois Region.

AAU is now partnering with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA)! PCA is transforming youth sports so sports can transform youth. Through partnership with more than 1,100 youth sports organizations, leagues, schools and cities nationwide, PCA has conducted 6,000-plus workshops for youth sports coaches, parents, organizational leaders and athletes.
Since Executive Director Jim Thompson founded PCA as a non-profit within the Stanford University Athletic Department in 1998, PCA has helped create a positive, character-building youth sports environment for more than 3 million youth athletes.
In face-to-face group workshops, dynamic PCA Trainers,
- Train youth and high school sports coaches to become Double-Goal Coaches®, whose first goal is winning, and whose second, more-important goal is teaching life lessons through sports;
- Develop Second-Goal Parents, who focus on helping their youth athletes learn those life lessons;
- Cultivate Triple-Impact Competitors, student athletes who strive to improve themselves, their teammates and their sport as a whole.
PCA gains support from elite coaches and athletes from around the country, and we are happy to announce that Illinos Jets Coaches are PCA Double-Goal Certified Coaches that support the mission of positive coaching standards.

DuWayne and Monique Jones are the founders of the Illinois Jets Youth Track and Field Club Organization.
President and Head Coach, DuWayne Jones, has been a devoted father and parent coach for over eight years. He is a former United States Marine Corps Sergeant, a USATF Level One Certified Coach, ASEP approved, W.I. T.S. (World Instructor Training School) Certified personal trainer, a PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance) Double-Goal Certified Coach, a 2010 recipient of the Illinois Park and Recreation Association(IPRA) and the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) Community Service Award, and a 2011 Double-Goal Coach Award Nominee!
Coach Jones will tell you that he is a student in the area of youth track and field, however, those that have worked with him will attest that he is one of the area’s most revered youth track and field coaches.
